Movie Review: Avatar
The #1 movie in the world...
That's the voiceover on the most recent trailer for James Cameron's Avatar. Here is how Avatar ranks as #1:
- #1 worst plot
- #1 most obvious liberal propaganda
- #1 most predictable plot
- #1 most anti-American
- #1 most anti-military
- #1 most anti-capitalist
- #1 most anti-human
- #1 most pro-climate change (as much as Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth)
- #1 most tree-hugging, all living things are equal, plants and animals are smarter than humans; the greatest being on the planet Pandora is a tree
Within the first 15 minutes this liberal propaganda had my blood boiling and I wanted to walk out but my kids wanted to see it so I stayed. I wish I had not seen it.
Take my advice. Go see Sherlock Holmes instead or just save your money.

Hmmm... sounds like a good movie, if it truly is anti-military, anti-capitalist, pro-climate change and the most tree-hugging movie ever made. On the other hand I don't appreciate bad, predictable plots, propaganda, racism or misanthropy.
After reading American opinions for decades, one can only wonder how contrasted the political viewpoints are. Everything is seen as liberal or conservative propaganda. Only thing that separates these two poles, is that liberals have more convincing advocates. Should there be two separate nations perhaps?
By the way is there something wrong not to appreciate actions that have led to death of millions of collaterals (referring to anti-militarism) or to respect nature (life) as such and not only as a vast resource for human consumption?
If you know the story of Pocahontas or have seen the Disney movie of the same name, then you know the plot of Avatar. They are eerily similar.
I disagree that liberals have more convincing advocates. They may seem more believable because that crowd tends to be more dramatic, more artistic. But when the eye candy is removed, their arguments are weak.
One thing we need to understand is that there is a difference between being 'anti-war' and 'anti-military'. You may disagree with certain military campaigns. That's fine. But to characterize your own country's soldiers as 'trigger happy morons' is going way over the line. If it wasn't for those 'trigger happy morons' Europe might be speaking German and saying 'Heil Hitler' today.
Lastly, the number of collateral deaths is greatly exaggerated to the point of being fictitious.
