You're Either With Us Or Against Us

The struggle over the ill-devised health care bill is nothing less than a battle for the soul of this nation. It is that important.

Because it is so important, there are no Democrats, Republicans, or Independents in this battle. You are either with us or you are against us.

If you choose to support this grotesque bill that will rape this nation and burden it with more financial weight than it can bear, then we will do everything within our power to see that you are looking for a new job on your next election day. Your polling guys know stats. The majority of Americans oppose universal health care. You support it, you're a lame duck.

If you stand against this bill and fight for this nation, we will do the same for you. We will circulate your name, talk about your courage, campaign for you, and raise money for you.

Make no mistake. We intend to kill this bill and any others that attempt to establish a government-run or controlled health insurance program.

You are confused and don't understand the basic premise of American Democracy. You look to the past superficially searching for icons to give you confusion sacred and patriotic credibility. In case you were not in class that day, George Washington was a progressive revolutionary. He was not a conservative Whig, he was a Tory - he was for change. Resolve this fact before you attempt to say anything further.

I don't expect to see my comment published on your blog. Your closed mind requires you control all comments that may threaten your fixed atrophied poltics. At best, your comments preach to the choir.

Mykaz1: I posted your comments because I believe in free speech and opposing ideas make for good debate. However, my only hesitation was that your comments made absolutely no sense and seemed to be way off topic. Did you comment on the wrong post, by chance?

If it is this health care reform that your precious nation can't financially bear, how can it bear direct and indirect costs of war against terrorism around the globe, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan? These illegimate wars have already cost hundredfold the amount initially planned.

In the end Obama's health care reform would promote national unity and moral justice and would eventually become more affordable than todays health care system. It is hard to see how this reform would diminish an average individual's right to choose. I guess this is the main reasoning among the anagonists.

Heikki, thanks for commenting. We like being a capitalist, representative republic. Socialism is not welcome here. Government intrusion is not welcome here. In this country, forced participation in ANY government program is unconstitutional. America is about freedom.

Our health care system needs some work but is not broken. The U.S. government mismanages virtually every program it controls. Billions of dollars are lost through mismanagement and fraud. Social Security, Medicare, TARP. Why in the world would we want them to control health care?

When the government takes over health care, they will drive private insurance companies out of business. Your only choice will be government insurance. I've seen the government's clinics and VA hospitals. No thanks. I'll stick with what I have.
