MIA: Integrity In The Scientific Community

In the not-so-distant past scientists were revered for their intelligence, devotion, and integrity. They found cures for illnesses, discovered new substances to improve our lives, and put men in space. Those days are quickly becoming forgotten. Many of today's scientists either work for corporations who expect a certain result from their research or they work for universities that are controlled by ultra-liberals who only want corroboration for their baseless and illogical ideas.

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts.
-Sherlock Holmes

A perfect example is global warming. We have been told there is unanimity in the scientific community on this subject. The truth is, those scientists who question the theory of global warming and who provide evidence to contradict it are ostracized, ridiculed, and threatened. So much for tolerance of other views.

Now we have politicians who want to ban or place a surcharge on plastics bags because they are "killing marine animals." Once again, this baseless and illogical idea came from a misquote in a study on the effects of plastic bags. The study did not say plastic bags were killing marine life. The key issue with marine life and pollution is entanglement. It is highly illogical to think that a sea lion or a seagull could become entangled with a plastic bag and die.

Liberals make decisions based on emotions. That is why we are overregulated and overtaxed. To pay for their guilt. We will never be able to teach liberals to be logical. Our only course of action is to stand up against their baseless claims and block efforts to spend money to fix things that aren't broken.
