This is an open letter to all Americans, liberal or conservative, rich or poor, black or white, male or female, young or old, Christian or agnostic. If you fall into any of those categories, this letter is for you.
Approximately 230 years ago, a wise and brave group of men determined that freedom was a God-given right and that the freedom of the colonists was being infringed upon by the government. They grew tired of the government taxing them. They grew tired of the government making laws without regard to them or even listening to them.
After realizing the government would never listen, the colonists decided it was time to disengage themselves from the rule of said government and create their own government based on individual rights and freedom. Freedom to control your own destiny. Freedom to worship in the way you wanted. The right to be heard. The right to be properly represented in the government.
Now the ruling government was none too happy about this because their power was threatened. They tried to crush the opposition but the opposition had grown too large and too strong. Despite that, the key to the colonials victory was freedom. Real men will fight for freedom to the death. There is an innate desire within the human soul to be free. Freedom from oppression. Freedom to think. Freedom to speak. Freedom to succeed.
Here we are some 230 years later and things look similar to those colonial days. The government is overtaxing us. They do not listen to the people. They make laws without regard of the people. They spend money to the detriment of our descendants. They care only about themselves and their lust for power.
In the Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers clearly spelled the right of the people to oppose and even abolish the government if the government was being destructive in its actions.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Barack Obama's election is indeed historic. It is the greatest mistake in our history. No president has rushed so quickly to destroy this nation. Obama is dismantling capitalism, free markets, private property, and individual freedom. We are becoming the enemy we hated 25 years ago.
If we, the people, cannot regain control of our government, we will be faced with two options.
Option 1 is to allow this country to fall into socialism at the hands of Barack Obama and his minions. To do this is disrespectful of every man, woman, and child who lost their lives in the battles for freedom that have taken place over the past 230 years.
Option 2 is to follow the lead of our forefathers who knew what was right and gave themselves to the cause of freedom. We are still a strong people. We are still a brave people. We are still the creators of our own destiny. We are still a free people.
If we do nothing, all of those things will be lost. Not just for us, but for our children and our grandchildren.
Get the attention of your government representatives. Tell them what you want them to do and make sure they know you will not vote for any candidate who supports more taxes and more government control. They work for you, not vice versa.
If you have what it takes, run for office. Don't be afraid. The people who hold those positions are not any smarter than you are. A trained monkey can take money out of your pocket and stick it in his pocket. It takes someone with conviction and integrity to stand up for what is right.
I'm sure this post will land me on the DHS Domestic Terrorist List but I really don't care. My country is too important to just sit by an watch it be destroyed. Too many lives were lost to build it and I'll be hanged if I'm going to sit by and watch a rookie socialist tear it apart.
